Aquanox

Arguably, Aquanox could be considered one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants built in the recent wave of new growth here in Atlanta. The theme of water and bubbles resonates throughout the restaurant. The first thing that meets diners is the water tunnel wine cellar and glass bubbles hanging from the ceiling. This theme continues with alternating color themes in the lighting and circular booths that are surrounded by curtains. (These booths reminded me a little bit of a shower which was a slightly uncomfortable sensation considering it was only a first date.)

That was where the "shock and awe" ended. Our waiter seemed nervous and unsure (he wasn't even the one on the blind date). He was not informative, which was problematic since the menu is extremely limited and not filled with the familiar fish I have grown up knowing. The food was over priced and bland. If you do decide to go, your best bet is the John Dory.

My guess is that Aquanox will draw the $30,000 millionaires that used to flock to Blue point. Go at your own risk...2 Thumbs down. (It would have been 4 I'm sure, but my cohort in crime wouldn't be able to find anything to eat there anyways.:))
